Content Writing VS Content Marketing: How are Both Different From Each Other?

Regardless of how long the businesses have been introduced to digital marketing, it is often seen that they confuse the terms of marketing. One being content writing and the other being content marketing, brands are always confused between the two.

We get it that both have content in the beginning, so what difference does it make? Well, that, my friend, is a misconception that people often have. Because of such uninformed thoughts, businesses are making decisions that can drastically affect their returns.

We may want to highlight how every decision that an entrepreneur takes is directed towards the end game. That being the returns on their investment. However, when you make wrong decisions, the chances of getting profits out of it are rare.

Keeping that in mind, we have seen many businesses make the same mistakes. How, you may ask? They confuse a writer with a marketer, leading to them hiring a writer first, expecting them to bring sales without a strategy, and losing money in the end.

However, what they are supposed to do in the beginning is that they better hire a content marketer first, strategize the marketing plan, understand the audience, and then begin with a content distribution channel to bring in positive outcomes.

We might like to add that a content marketer themselves cannot bring the results that businesses are expecting. Again, why, you may ask? Well, they strategize for you, but to curate quality content, that is entirely the job of a content writer. If given the same job to handle, they might not harness the same results that a content writer surely would.

Since the distinctions of the profiles are different, so are their skillset and impending impacts. For a better understanding of both profiles, here we bring forth a bifurcation that might help you.

What is Content Writing?

Content writing is the art of crafting material for different forms with the intention of commercializing, educating, informing, or attracting the reader. One can write in different formats and types that can target a diverse audience based on reading capacity.

For instance, if the intent of a user is to understand a topic in-depth, they might not find social media content worthy of reading. The use would look for informational long-format content that segmentizes every topic and presents information in every line. However, if you want to target a user with a short memory span but want them to make an effort to visit your social media handle, you might need to be quirky and lasting while being short and crisp.

Such a focus and effort to understand the audience’s vision, researching as per them, and building user-centric content that hooks the audience is a wholesome part of content writing, and what makes a content writer worthy of investment.

Primary Focuses of a Content Writer

Since the purpose of a content writer is clear, we also think that understanding their focus is equally important.

To keep it short and helpful, bringing you pointers on the primary focus of a content writer is a much better choice. Those purposes being:

  1. Clarity and Engagement: Ensuring the message is easy to understand and keeps readers interested.

  2. Tone and Voice Alignment: Matching the brand's identity and audience expectations.

  3. Information Delivery: Structuring content so that it informs or educates effectively.

  4. SEO Writing: Incorporating keywords naturally to improve search visibility.

Well, with that, it must be evident to you why it is imperative to have a content writer right by your side. You may not be able to describe efficiently, but a content writer with a writing grasp can, and that's what makes them distinctive.

Types of Content Writers That Fulfill Different Brand Needs

Since you are aware of the purpose, it is essential for you to know that content writers are limited and titles in this large spectrum. They also have categories that help you and other businesses focus on the exact niche you are planning on exploring. The types of content writers are categorized among those in this list:

  1. SEO Writers: Focused on keyword-rich content for better search engine rankings.

  2. Technical Writers: Skilled in explaining complex topics like software, IT, or engineering.

  3. Copywriters: Craft persuasive content for ads, landing pages, and sales emails.

  4. Creative Writers: Bring storytelling and emotion into brand content.

  5. Ghostwriters: Write on behalf of others, often used for thought leadership or executive content.

Now, once your need is clear, you can choose the type of writer from the above list.

What is Content Marketing?

Coming to the content marketing, it is expected to be the same by the businesses, but has an entirely different purpose in the field of digital marketing. When talking about content marketing, it implies that a marketer takes a systematic approach to build a business-focused strategy to engage the audience and bring in leads and outcomes.

One might confuse a writer and a marketer over here. However, the difference comes from the fact that the marketer works on intent analysis, content distribution system, business networking, and then works on content performance to ensure that businesses either get leads in return or traffic from users who might be looking for services or products.

A content marketer does provide a writer with SEO-focused keywords, intent-focused ideas, and understanding of what the audience is looking for, but would not write the content themselves. Since marketing is about strategizing, you may also label a content marketer as a strategist working on driving full value out of the content.

What are the Main Components of Content Marketing?

You might be wondering what the main components of a content marketer are and what other skill sets they bring forth for businesses. To answer the questions, we have listed down some of the components and responsibilities that fall under a content marketer:

  1. Content Strategy & Calendar: Blueprint of what gets published when and where.

  2. SEO and Keyword Research: Driving organic visibility.

  3. Channel Management: Managing distribution across social media, email, blogs, etc.

  4. Lead Generation Funnels: Creating content to guide users through the sales funnel.

  5. Content Analytics: Measuring performance metrics like traffic, bounce rate, and conversions.

All these pointers direct us to one thing: a marketer knows how to monetize the content produced by a writer, and they are interdependent on each other to ensure that a business flourishes, generates immense revenue, and drives tangible results.

How is Content Writing Different From Content Marketing?

Since the interdependencies and differences are somewhat clear, we do seem to understand that a tabular version might be much more helpful to conclusively understand the difference. For that purpose, here we go and bring a table form for you to understand it in a short and crisp manner.

Aspects

Content Writer

Content Marketer

Primary Role

Create content

Use content to achieve the goal

Focus

Language, tone, clarity

Strategy, funnel, ROI

Goal

Engage and inform readers

Attract, engage, and retain customers

Tools

Google Docs, Grammarly, AI Detectors, Plagiarism Tools

Google Analytics, Search Console, SEO tools

Metrics

Engagement, readability

Traffic, leads, conversion

Since the difference is clear and the categorization is in front with a tabular visual, we hope the bifurcation as well as the brief will be assisted.

How Can a Content Writer and a Content Marketer Work Together?

Now that distinctions are apprehended, the final discussion comes to them working together. How are these two profiles interdependent and change the game for businesses? For that, we are going to be short and concise for you since the majority of them are somewhat clear above.

  1. Content Writing Fuels Content Marketing

The interdependencies of content and marketing are paramount. Written content is not enough to drive if not strategized well. And similar is the case with the strategies, if not backed by value-driven content. The content, when combined with user-focused strategies, brings value and fuels the entire lead generation process.

  1. Content Reuse and Repurposing Based on Requirement

Upon discussion, if the content is not fit for a platform based on certain factors, it can be repurposed by the marketer. Similarly, based on the demand of the distribution, content can be moulded to fit the needs of a strategy.

  1. Cross-Skills Learning for Better Results

While some may say that these two different profiles both stem from digital marketing and can bring value to each other based on SEO, audience, research, and other factors. This way, a writer and a marketer may learn from each other and bring forth results that are beneficial for the brand.

All In All

As we understood the differences, similarities, and interdependencies, it becomes clear that hiring only one can be a mistake in decision-making. Both need equal attention if you are planning on building a streamlined lead and revenue generation process. The content writing services combined with content and digital marketing services become imperative for businesses, if their end game is to augment their businesses and build a revenue-focused strategy.

Work around for Broadcast receiver not working in Chinese mobiles

If you're having trouble with your Android app not responding to certain events in Mi, Oppo, Vivo or Letv devices it's not your fault.
This could include and is not limited to, service app not working properly, push notifications not working properly, application not opening up when intended.
It is because of the extensive battery saver and the so-called saving the user from apps spamming their activity.

Here's the funniest part about it

We wrote to someone very senior at Xiaomi. He reverted that they manually whitelist a few apps, and the rest are by default disallowed from accessing the notifications folder. This was the response. "This usually happens because of whitelisting of apps that can access notifications folder. This is a feature to ensure the user is protected from spam and also helps to ensure RAM/battery usage optimization." We asked what the process was to get an app whitelisted, and did not get a response.

This is coming from a post about GCM push notifications not working on Mi devices here.
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/40814126/gcm-push-notifications-for-android-devices-are-not-working-on-mi-and-letv-mobile/40932178#40932178

Funny because Chinese mobile manufacturers like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo first flood their phones with bloatware nobody asks for and even shove their useless articles and sponsored apps to users and here we see them talking about how they want to protect the user from spam and RAM and battery consumption.

The only solution is to get extensive permissions from the user which will be done manually and cannot be programmed for easiness.
What all permissions?
First, we need a permission to auto-start the application and then the permission to display pop-up window.
App Settings > Permissions > Auto-Start
App Settings > Other Permissions > Display Pop-up

The most convenient workaround is to ask the user to manually permit these setting and open the settings page for the end-user.
This can be done by making a settings button that opens up the settings page.

settings = (Button)findViewById(R.id.settings);
settings.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
            @Override
            public void onClick(View v) {
                Intent intent = new Intent(Settings.ACTION_APPLICATION_DETAILS_SETTINGS);
                Uri uri = Uri.fromParts("package", getPackageName(), null);
                intent.setData(uri);
                startActivity(intent);
            }
        });

How to transfer your Domain to CloudFlare

Cloudflare recently came into Domain Registrar Business and they're probably the best when it comes to pricing. Why?

No markup. No surprise fees."

That's right.
Apparently, there is not much of a service you need once you registered a domain and it pointing to right name servers.

Now in order to transfer your domain from a different registrar to CloudFlare, you need to open the dashboard on your current registrar and make sure there is no Registrar-Lock on your domain.

Once confirmed you'll need to get an EPP Code which you'll be entering in the CloudFlare panel where you transfer a domain.

Now when transferring a domain you need to make sure your domain is supported by CloudFlare. To check that head to TLD Policies by CloudFlare here.

https://www.cloudflare.com/tld-policies/

For anyone concerned .in domains don't come in this policy yet. So if you're having trouble transferring a .in domain to CloudFlare there is no way to do it as of now.

Once you see Transfer in progress all you can do is wait. It could take up to 14 days for the transfer to complete.

Why a one account for all Streaming Services would be a great idea

Since 2011, Netflix has become one of the most powerful companies in the world, boasting a worldwide user base of nearly 150 million. Between 2011 and 2015, Netflix and other streaming services penetrated the global market so effectively that piracy plummeted roughly 50%.

However, for the first time in years, that trend line is changing. In 2018, global piracy went up.

Global piracy rate is a useful indicator for the health of the streaming market because it highlights a key value of streaming providers: convenience. Netflix proved that even in a world where piracy is accessible and relatively low-risk, users are willing to pay for convenience. No one wants to search dodgy corners of the internet to stream The Office if they don't have to.

The migration of users from streaming services back to piracy indicates that streaming services are no longer offering the same level of convenience they used to. There are two major reasons for this.

The first is market segmentation. If you want to watch WestworldAtlanta, and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, you'll need to subscribe to some combination of HBO, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. As major streaming services invest in exclusive content (Netflix budgeted $13 billion for original content in 2018), users are forced to sign up for multiple services or miss out. As producers like Disney launch their own exclusive streaming services, the problem only grows.

The second is international licensing. International licensing for media is a nightmare, and for streaming services, it presents a massive bottleneck. While Netflix users in the U.S. enjoy thousands of streamable movies, users in Portugal get by with a couple hundred. In countries with strict censorship laws like Saudi Arabia, numbers become even smaller.

These forces converge to make individual streaming services less convenient—and therefore less valuable—to users, making the trade-offs of piracy more worthwhile. And while that may not spell the end for streaming services, it does signal that we may be seeing the end of streaming's golden age.

There seems to be a need for One Account for all streaming services in this world. But such a program will require a lot of money to put it in action. Paying royalties to streaming services and playing it through their application (maybe). Such a thing seems only possible by a joint effort. Hopefully, someday these big players will realize and work together on something like it.

What's Domain Authority and how you can increase it

Domain authority is one of the many factors(yet a very important one) which affects the placement of your website's content in searches.
Although Search Engine Optimisation(SEO) plays a very crucial role in making your content accessible in search results Domain Authority covers an entirely different aspect.
It states a level of importance of the Webpage or website, in turn describing how reliable is the website or webpage.

How to increase your Domain Authority?

  1. Quality Content
  2. Search Engine Optimisation
  3. Internal Linking
  4. High-Quality Backlinks
  5. Regular Updates
  6. Avoid Broken Links
To check your Domain Authority you can head to Moz website and also you can have their addon installed to keep a track of Domain Authority of any webpage you visit.
Domain Authority is also a viable way to research your competition.
You'll always have a better chance over a website with lower Domain Authority compared to your website.

Here's how you can increase the Domain Authority of your blog or website.

1. Write Quality Content.
You see searched only exists because of all the information that is available online. You cannot expect to have thousands of visitors for no content. Also, you cannot expect visitors for some content that makes no sense or isn't good enough compared to others.
You need to have quality content, submit to Google Search console and hope for best.

2. Search Engine Optimization
SEO is something you just have to spend a one-time effort on. Most of the time you don't even have to worry about it. If you're running on Wordpress make sure your theme is properly optimized for Search Crawlers. If you're on Blogspot, there's not much to do but use a proper theme for your blog. You can always switch to the Blogspot theme I designed specifically keeping SEO in mind.

3. Internal Linking
It's pretty much self explanatory. Internal linking refers to cross-linking the blog content wherever possible.
Mostly it reduces the Bounce rate and also helps your users to be on the same page as the writer.

4. Quality Backlinks
It's always a good idea to have backlinks. They're not dead. It affects your search positioning. Not clearly but it does affect it. But be aware not to have backlinks from toxic pages.

5. Regular Updates
There is no reason for a search crawler to crawl a blog that is not being updated. When you're not posting anything you're at a loss of content compared to blogs that are updating.
You lose a place over time. And ultimately the authority. The more content you have better it is.

6. Avoid Broken Links
Broken links are a no go. Use Google Webmaster tool to keep a check on any broken link you might have.

I'm going to increase the visitors on my blog and here's how

Up until now, I've been blogging on what so ever I feel like writing. Turns out it's not a healthy habit for blogging. As I previously explained how following a niche helps your blog it also inversely affects it if a niche is not being followed. So I plan to fix that and by posting more content on a certain topic and let the define the niche of my blog.
I did my research and found that people(other bloggers) tend to interact more with posts that are SEO or blogging based. The reason is obvious to get better backlinks and traffic of the same niche.

I plan to do it by doing little research on similar web pages and mostly throw KWFinder.
For those who don't know, KWfinder is an easy way for researching keywords you can target for better search result placement.
KWfinder gives free five searches for a day.
Also, you can do keyword research using Google Adwords.

How to add a Google Translate Option to Blogger

Ever since Reliance Jio came to India, the amount of active Internet users in India has increased significantly. These high number of user are not always English speaking and there comes a necessity to have translate options on your blog.

Although having such a plugin for translation does not really serve any better purpose like more content for search crawlers to crawl. But it indeed helps your audience in case of a language barrier.

To add a translate option in your Blogger website go Blogger.com and select your blog.

Go to Layout and click on Add a Gadget where you want the Translate option to appear.

From the list of Gadgets select Translate and add it to your website.

Website design that affects your traffic

A good design is an obvious design.

Sometimes the most convenient design might look boring but it might be the most productive as well. How much does a website design affect your website's traffic?

Depending on the amount of traffic being the users on Mobile and slow Internet this number could variate a lot.

How?

To answer this, think of yourself on a slow-ass Internet something like you'd get on a 2G Mobile Network. And browsing a website with a black background, with an overlay of white image and simple text in black over it. If the white image is significantly large in size to load in a short time, you're stuck with black text over a black background. The only way to actually see is by selecting the text.

Normally, a user would just leave the website unless you have some content he's really desperate for.

Now a website design also affects the Search Engine Optimisation, SEO of it. If you're not aware, Google's crawlers when exploring ranks the type of data they encounter according to various different factors.
Like if you have a step by step guide for something you should just bullet the steps and you'd be able to show your data in quick results in Google Search. That does not get you actual visitor but it does increase your website's authority in that search.

In a similar way, a simple design with proper tags and content is easily crawled by the search engines and hence getter better rankings.

Does SEO related content generate more traffic?

Considering the different topics I write about on my blog, it is hard to say what niche my blog will fall in. But needless to say, I have noted that Search Engine Optimization or SEO related content generate significantly more traffic than other content on my blog.

How did I come to that conclusion?

I recently wrote a blog post on how not following a particular niche affects a blog's performance. Which to my surprise was getting as much as double the number of visitors compared to other blog posts published before and after that post.

Not only this, the most popular blog post on this blog is also related to SEO. That's Unconventional Traffic Generation Hacks nobody shares

In spite of having written articles on various topics including DOTA 2, gaming, and tricks my blog gets better views for SEO related blog posts.

Niche based mistakes new Bloggers do in SEO

When it comes to writing blogs, Search Engine Optimisation is something not everyone focuses on. Many times we would come across blogs that have good content yet don't rank well in searches.
Why?

The reason behind is simple, Search Engines crawlers don't think your content is good enough to be ranked higher. So how does that work?

In order to rank well in the searches, you need to make quality content and focus on your niche. It is never a good idea to spread your hands in all directions. Doing so in blogging and writing content on anything you find can backlash as well.

You see, if someone visits your website for a particular search term and some other person searches for something remotely related to that particular search, they tend to believe your blog might be rich in that particular type of content.
In simple words, you would not expect a Video Editing related blog to host content on Astrophysics, would you? So if someday a the Video Editing blog decides to write on astrophysics just because they like it. Does not mean it's would be ranked better on searches because the search engine knows that their blog doesn't contain a significant amount of quality and quantity of astrophysics related content.
Doing so this also reduces the authority of your blog because this reduces your search ranking.

Are Backlinks and keywords really dead? An insight on SEO hack

I usually don't like the world of SEO and marketing, reason being anyone with enough money to throw can make absurd things popular. Have you seen useless Facebook pages with little to no updates but an immense audience, websites with great Alexa rank and traffic yet no useful content, celebrity pages with ridiculous likes and followers. It all happens in the backyard of the Internet. It's all like a surface of Deep Web. Okay I went too far. But I hope you get the idea.

So I am here to disclose something which people think is long dead. Backlinks.
If you are into SEO and or have been into it before you must be aware of how Google penalizes pages with weird backlink activity and they even hide the keywords details now.
They restricted ways to hack into search results. And I think it was all for good and still is. It significantly improves the search results and you are less likely to wander among useless websites. Simply the search results are more dependent on Domain Authority, value and it's previous content.
But recently I happen to realize backlinks and keywords aren't really dead.
You still have chance to trick your way into top Google results.
Apparent Question how?

Let me just go through an example which I have witnessed with some website I won't disclose. Let's call it Example.com

Steps we followed:

  1. Site being completely new.
    No previous registration of the domain either.
  2. Selecting a niche.
    This took longer time than one would normally expect. We went through numerous topics and it was really difficult to chose one. Then how did we do it? We did and extensive research on random topics using keywords tools like aherf or you can use Adwords Keywords Planner.
  3.  Blogging.
    I think it's pretty obvious step. Blogging is the easiest possible way into the Google Search results. But we did not just start writing anything. We did a preper keyword research to find keywords with low competition yet high search volumes. This can be done for free using Google Adwords
  4. Creating Backlinks.
    This is one part you have to be careful with. You do not go berserk buying random backlinks to your blog or website. You need just a minor amount yet quality link backs. Hence the phrase Quality over Quantity. How? What ever you are targeting through you website just go through similar websites and blogs and leave a genuine comment and hope they have do follow link back. Don't waste time checking whether some site has do follow link. The objective is to just leave in the comments. Whether it's do follow or not, you will still benefit a little from it.

People still do it, and they will continue to do it. There is no possible way to stop exploitation of this. After all you cannot expect all the rain without a little mud.

HTML and CSS in a nutshell | Learn HTML and CSS

If you are new to the programming world HTML is something you should start from. HTML is not really a programming language though but getting to know it is a must have for anyone who wishes to make web applications.

This (not so)little guide/tutorial will cover most of the HTML and CSS and a little bit of HTML5 which would be more than enough to get you started with web development.

Lets start with complete basics.

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.
HTML is not a programming language, it's a mark-up language meant for defining and formatting web pages.
HTML can be combined with many different programming languages to achieve anything, literally.

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet.
CSS is used for defining the style of a webpage.

Let's skip the theory and move to practical.

Overview:

Part I: Making a Simple HTML Page.

Part II: Learning various HTML tags.

Part III: Basic CSS.

Part I: Making a simple HTML page.

<html><head></head><body>Hello World!</body></html>

Copy the code above in a text file and save the text file as helloWorld.html
Make sure you have file extensions visible from the settings. If not, go to Folder Options > Views and uncheck "Hide file extensions."

Lets break and study different parts of this HTML file.

<html> : Marks the beginning of an HTML page.

<head> : Marks the beginning of an HEAD part of the page. Think of it like an HEADER portion of your webpage. Although you can define or write anything in it but the convention is to only include the HEADER's information in this. HEADER's information could be the TITLE of the webpage, Header image, heading and or menu of the page.

<body> : Marks the beginning of the BODY section of a webpage. This is where we do everything a web page contains. Paragraphs of content, images, forms and everything else you can think of.

Hello World! : This is the content of a web page. Anything that goes inside the BODY tag is considered the content of the page. Now this content can further be formatted according to the need with various HTML tags which will be discussed below.

</body></head></html> : Marks the ending of respective tag.

Part II: Learning various HTML tags.

<html>
<head>
<title>Holy Shit I made a WebPage</title>
</head>
<body style="background-color:#CCC; font-family:monospace;">
<i><h1 style="text-align:center;">Remember the name.</h1></i>
<h2 style="text-align:center;">This is so boring.</h2>
<h3 style="text-align:center;">No not really.</h3>
<h4 style="text-align:center;">How and why?</h4>
<h5 style="text-align:center;">What has this world come to.</h5>
<h6 style="text-align:center;">Yea you can't even see me now.</h6>
<p style="text-align:center;"><b>Today is fourth of April,</b> <em>two thousand seventeen</em>. This is a webpage made on <mark>Thinkpad</mark> by <strike>IBM</strike> Lenovo. <u>Did you know!</u> Thinkpad are the only laptop range approved to be used in ISS the International Space Station.</p>
</p><bdo dir="rtl">This is another line to text from right to left.</bdo></p>
<blockquote>There are seven billion people living on this Earth! Can you tell me what every single life is worth?</blockquote>
<h1 style="text-align:center; font-size:500%;">H2SO4</h1>
<h1 style="text-align:center; font-size:500%;">K2Cr2O7</h1>
<h1 style="text-align:center; font-size:500%;">(a+b)<sup>2</sup>=a<sup>2</sup>+b<sup>2</sup>+2ab</h1>
</body>
</html>

Take the code above into another HTML file and save it as you like and remember to add .html as it's extension.

Lets break and study different parts in BODY part of this HTML file.

<body style="background-color:#CCC; font-family:monospace;"> In this body tag we have define a style component which is used for defining the CSS. In this particular case we are using In-line CSS(will be discussed later) which sets the background color to #CCC and font to monospace#CCC is the HTML color notation you can use normal color names like BLUE, RED etc. as well. monospace is the font family and you can use any compatible font instead like Arial, Impact etc.

Headings Tag:

<i><h1 style="text-align:center;">Remember the name.</h1></i> : In this part we made use of In-line CSS again to align the text to center of the page. <h1> tag states that the text between the tag is a Heading. Like wise we have H2, H3, H4, H5 and H6 sub-headings' tag.

By using <i> tag we make the heading italic
Similarly we have <b> tag to make text bold

<p style="text-align:center;"><b>Today is fourth of April,</b>
<em>two thousand seventeen</em>. This is a webpage made on
<mark>Thinkpad</mark> by
<strike>IBM</strike> Lenovo.
<u>Did you know!</u> Thinkpad are the only laptop range approved to be used in ISS the International Space Station.</p><p>
<bdo dir="rtl">This is another line to text from right to left.</bdo></p>
<blockquote>There are seven billion people living on this Earth! Can you tell me what every single life is worth?</blockquote> : In this part we wrote a paragraph. I'm pretty sure you can point out the bold part in this.
Then we have <em> tag which stands for emphasize which emphasizes the text in between a little. I have never used it before, and I don't think you will either.
<mark> marks the text in between. Just like we use markers on books and papers. You cannot change the yellow color or mark tag.
<strike> strikes the text. Needs no further explanation.
<u> underlines the text in between.
<blockquote> stands for quoting a block of content like a paragraph.
<bdo dir="rtl"> stands for Bidirectional Override. It is used to set direction of text. You can replace rtl with ltr which is actually the default.

<h1 style="text-align:center; font-size:500%;">H2SO4</h1>
<h1 style="text-align:center; font-size:500%;">K2Cr2O7</h1>
<h1 style="text-align:center; font-size:500%;">(a+b)<sup>2</sup>=a<sup>2</sup>+b<sup>2</sup>+2ab</h1>
<marquee><h1>Holy Shit!</h1></marquee> : In this part we have,

 tag which stands for super script makes the text in between appear as super script.

 tag which stands for Sub Script which makes the text in between appear as sub script.

<marquee> runs the text in between from right to left.

That's it.
Now the CSS.

Part III: Links and Images.

<html>
<head>
<title>Mind Blown</title>

<body>
<p>Image with height and width</p>
<a href="http://shiftescape.com">Click here to open my blog.</a><br/>
<img src="http://i.imgur.com/cqMnINb.gif" alt="Mind Blown" width="640" height="320"/>
</body>
</html>

Create another web page with the code above.
<a href="url-here"> tag is used to create anchor text links.
<br/> tag is used to break the line. You can use either from <br>, </br>, <br/> they all do the same work.
<img src="image-url-here" width="640" height="320"/> tag is used for embedding an image. The alt part stands for alternate text which is still optional and appears when the desired image is unavailable. width and height are speaking for themselves.

Part IV: Dictionary and Lists.

<html>
<head></head><body>

<dl>
<dt>Random Title</dt>
<dd>A random title is something that we make up to fill the title part.</dd>
<dt>Title Again</dt>
<dd>This is the description, yep, pretty small description.</dd>
</dl>

<ol type="i">List of Female DOTA2 Characters
<li>Mercurial</li>
<li>Lina</li>
<li>Rylai</li>
<li>Lanaya</li>
</ol>

</body></html>

Dictionary and list are just another way of representing data in form of lists.
Dictionary has <dt> as data title and <dd> as data definition.
When it comes to list, we have an ordered list
<ol> which numbers the list content and unordered list <ul>.

Part V: Forms and Tables.

<html>
<head>
<title>Registration Form</title>
</head>
<body style="background-color:#CCC; font-family:monospace;">
<h1 style="text-align:center;">Register Now!</h1>
<form name="Registration Form" method="POST" action="demo_form.jsp" align="center">
<table align="center">
<tr>
<td>Select Username: </td><td><input type="text"/></td></tr>
<tr><td>Set Password: </td><td><input type="password"/></td></tr>
<tr><td>Gender: </td><td><select><option value="Male">Male</option><option value="Female">Female</option></select></td></tr>
<tr><td>Address: </td><td><textarea rows="5" cols="21"></textarea></td></tr>
<tr><td>State: </td><td><select><option value="">------------Select State------------</option>
<option value="Andaman and Nicobar Islands">Andaman and Nicobar Islands</option>
<option value="Andhra Pradesh">Andhra Pradesh</option>
</select><br/><br/></td></tr>
<tr><td>Select Qualification: </td><td><input type="checkbox" name="B.Tech" value="B.Tech">B.Tech
<input type="checkbox" name="M.Tech" value="M.Tech">M.Tech
<input type="checkbox" name="MBA" value="MBA">M.B.A
<input type="checkbox" name="Phd" value="Phd">Ph.D </td></tr>
</table>
<input type="submit" value="submit">
<input type="reset" value="clear"><br/><br/>
</form>
</body>
</html>

Lets break and study different part of this HTML file.

The code above is an example of a Sign Up form using HTML.
The purpose of an HTML form is usually to take user data and pass it to a file that can save it or process it accordingly. In the example above we have

<form name="Registration Form" method="POST" action="demo_form.jsp">

This form uses POST method and sends the data it collects to demo_form.jsp

To take an input from the user we use <input type="text"/>

To create a check box <input type="checkbox" name="Some name" value="Value">Some name

Likewise we have different input types for forms which you can find through google and on w3School website.

In the example above we are using a table to format and align the content of the form.
The table has the following structure, always

<table>
<tr><th>Column Heading 1 |</th> <th>  Column Heading 2</th></tr>
<tr><td>Row 1, Column 1 |</td> <td>Row 1, Column 2 </td></tr>
<tr><td>Row 2, Column 1 |</td> <td>Row 2, Column 2 </td></tr>
</table>

The table below is made using the exact code above

               Column Heading 1  |    Column Heading 2
                   Row 1, Column 1  |    Row 1, Column 2
                   Row 2, Column 1  |    Row 2, Column 2

Part VI: Basic CSS.

This will cover only the basic aspects of CSS. No animation, no transition.
By saying that I wanted to aware you of the power of CSS.
CSS is a powerful means of designing and can be used for making interactive and beautiful web pages.

There are three ways of using a CSS with HTML. All three will result in similar outcomes. Difference comes in handling and memory consumption.
  1. In-line CSS
  2. Internal CSS
  3. External CSS

1. In-line CSS
When the style for an HTML tag is defined within the tag itself, it's called in-line CSS.
Eg. <h1 style="text-align:center;">Remember the name.</h1>

2. Internal CSS
When the style for an HTML tag and the page itself is defined in the HEAD section of the page using the style tag, it's called internal CSS.
Eg.
<head>
<style type = "text/css" media ="all">
body {
background-color: #CCC;
}
h1 {
color: #EEE;
margin-left: 40px;
}
</style>
</head>

3. External CSS
When the style for an HTML page is defined using an external CSS file.
Eg. <head>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="styleSheet.css" media="all"/>
</head>

The code above in the HEAD section makes a link with the file stylesheet.css placed in the same folder as the HTML file.

The content of styleSheet.css could be following.

////////////////styleSheet.css//////////////////
h1{
color: red;
}
p{
color: blue;

}
////////////////end styleSheet///////////////

You can define as many HTML components in the external CSS.
If two HTML components are to carry the same properties, you can define them as

h1, h2, h3{
color: red;
}

To collectively apply some style to a part of html file, enclose the part in a DIV tag.

<div id = "myID"> <p><h1>... </p></div>
<div class = "myClass"> <p.....</p></div>

In appearance there is no difference in id and class made using CSS.

Classes in CSS are suffixed with a dot(.) operator and IDs can be suffixed with an hash(#) which is still optional.
Eg.
myID{
background-color: red;
}

.myClass{
background-color: blue;
}

That's it.

Go explore, experiment.
